This thread is for all discussion of forthcoming debut 'Enjoy It While It Lasts'.

For those of you who haven't heard yet, there are [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] of the entire album.

I'm particularly looking forward to 'True Love (For Now)', 'Upset Boulevard', 'No Adventure' and 'Grim Reefer' - just because they're new and stuff. Really looking forward to all the songs though - the production sounds fucking dope. Really pleased they chose to add Jed's electronic beats into the bridge of the album version of Chevy Thunder, it really completes the song.

Are you guys excited? What songs are you most excited for? Have you listened to the previews? What did you think? Discuss.

It's pretty insane that there's only about half a week until we can all own the album!

I can't wait to hear the studio versions of Friday Night and Lay Low and can't wait to hear No Adventure. Most of all, I just can't wait to hear the whole thing as an actual piece of work!

I know, right? Beyond excited. This album has been postponed so many fucking times, ~groan.

It actually drops the day after I go on a 2 week vacation, so not only have I pre-ordered the limited edition hardcopy, but I'm also having to buy it on iTunes whilst abroad so that I can listen to it on the beach!

I, personally, was most excited for Upset Boulevard, True Love (For Now), Grim Reefer - and fuck, have they delivered, or what? So incredible. No Adventure promises to be amazing, I'm sure - and I totally agree about wanting to hear studio versions of tracks we're familiar with. Friday Night, Don't Ever Let It End premieres tomorrow between 7pm and 9pm on BBC Radio 1 - so make sure to tune in.

I pre-ordered the limited edition too! You never know, maybe you'll get lucky and it'll come a day earlier than expected! It'll be beyond awesome to listen to it in the sun on the beach. Have a great vacation too!

I'm still waiting for Radio 1 to update their site, so I can rip Grim Reefer and give it a few proper listens. I posted Upset Boulevard on tumblr yesterday for everyone to listen to too.

Oh, you did?! I could only find one upload of it on tumblr, and it's currently being used over in the Upset Boulevard Premiere thread to allow people to listen! If it's your version I'm using, then I actually linked to your blogpost (instead of my reblog).

You're welcome. ;)

So, guys! My album came yesterday, and I'm sat in the airport on my iPad writing this before ai leave for two weeks. Basically, it'll just be a short rundown of what I think of each track. Maybe you could do the same after listening.

True Love (For Now) - AMAZING start to the album! It's got great lyrics and the music itself is perfection. Would love some more synthy Spector songs like this in the future (it differs from Grim Reefer in that it's still high-energy). I also really love the phone samples and the pitched backing vocals.

Chevy Thunder - A classic. Not much needs to be said, but I adore the new beats in the bridge.

Grey Shirt & Tie - Again, already familiar with this - but everything has been re-produced and it sounds flawless. Would have liked a little more "lalalalala" like the live version!

Twenty Nothing - Always been a great song live, and the recorded version is just as good. Production is not as wild as the other tracks, but that's perhaps a good thing as it breaks up the classic Spector excitement.

Friday Night, Don't Ever Let It End - PERFECTION. How a single song can contain so much adrenaline and still contain elements of an anthemic stadium-filler classic, I will never know.

Law Low - So good to finally have a produced version of one of my favourite Spector tracks. And a bloody good one, too - Fred's voice also comes across really well through the stripped back instrumentals.

Upset Boulevard - I love this song! The guitars are sick, and the chorus is such a sticker. Once I've heard it, I'm all DON'T WAIT FORRR MEEEE

No Adventure - Perhaps my least favourite out of all the tracks, but that doesn't mean I don't love it. It's great, it just lacks a certain something the other tracks have. The lyrics are some of the best, though.

What You Wanted - Another one we're all familiar with, but this re-production gives a lot more depth to the song and really improves it in general.

Celestine - Need I even review?

Grim Reefer - A personal favourite, I love this moment in the record where the band take a step back and go deeper than they usually do - which is saying something, as the bands' songs are usually meaningful. Deep is an appropriate way of describing the record acoustically, too; the sounds have been filtered and there's a real haunting underwater vibe.

Never Fade Away - Nothing to say. I love the re-production, especially the violin-like synths.

Over all, I love this record more than I anticipated - which was, needless to say, a lot. My favourite element has to be the wacky choice of clobber.
