'GRIM REEFER' RADIO PREMIÈRE (LISTEN HERE)
Okay so I'm practically speechless. The premier of 'Grim Reefer' earlier this evening on BBC Radio 1 was flawless. F-L-A-W-L-E-S-S.
I had high expectations for the song since hearing the teaser a few weeks back - but, fuck; it's epic. So different and celestial - and though Fred claims to have directly copied Drake for the track, it's really strikingly different to anything else the band (or Drake) have done for that matter. It's not as catchy as the other songs - but then again, it has 'Grim' in the title, I doubt it was intended to be. Melancholic in the best kind of way.
It's received mixed feedback on twitter and has been identified as a grower; but what do you guys think?
Tomorrow's première is 'Friday Night, Don't Ever Let It End' - so stay tuned to Zane Lowe's 7pm - 9pm slot to be among the first to hear it.
IF YOU MISSED IT: You can listen to 'Grim Reefer' [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].

This is definitely one of my favourite song titles in a while. I like the fact that this song is kind of like a more stripped back Spector than we're used to, it leads to quite a haunting track, obviously befitting with the title. I also really like how it builds to a kind of big crescendo ending too.
